‘Pebbles & Petals’ is an anthology of relatable and engaging poems compiled to take the reader along on a journey.

The first part of the collection has verses revolving around pithy observations expressed with hints of sarcasm. These thoughts originate from an objective viewpoint. The second part, in contrast, deals with verses built on an emotional voyage, taking the reader through stages of coping.

Overall, the ideas explored are the experiences of young adults as they venture into the world to discover the peculiarities of society and the nature of human beings.

Poem I

Hard, broken, worn out and cold. Beauty which will ever so softly unfold.

Poem II

We attribute so many of our decisions and choices to the game of life, only for someone else to pay the price.

Poem III

While we watch the world around us deteriorate, it does not seem to be much different when we look inside.

Poem IV

It is always best to be cautious, aware and certain of the intentions of people whom we choose to trust.

Poem V

Some of the best and worst things said, tend to be in hushed tones.

Poem VI

The commonality between half-truths, white lies and our willingness to blindly believe what we are told, is rooted in motive.

Poem VII

We spend so much of our efforts working on ourselves in an attempt to gain validation from others. Social pressures lead us to forget that even the most apparently accomplished could potentially be feeling empty inside.

Poem VIII

It is all within you, if only, you believe!

Poem IX

Sometimes dreams begin their flight on the wings of paper planes.

Poem X

May we learn something new at every stage in our lives and create meaning as we grow.

Poem XI

People often say things they do not mean.

Poem XII

We may or may not be the cause for someone’s hurt, but that does not negate the pain they go through.

Poem XIII

The seemingly strongest could endure the worst of the external storms but it is not the external forces, but rather the weight of everything they hold within that has the potential of causing harm.

Poem XIV

Eventually and surely, we adapt to become part of the reality we see.

Poem XV

Everything left behind are souvenirs of what was.

Poem XVI

Not everything that is broken is worthless. Some things turn out to be worth treasuring.

Poem XVII

If nothing else, an optimism to achieve, does give us momentum.

Poem XVIII

For everything that life puts us through, we hold on, knowing that the outcome of our struggles is worth the ordeal.
