The Approval

Updated: Nov 18, 2023

It starts with realising that progression is more important than perfection and comprehending that it’s never too late to blend. Though painful initially, continuing on the journey to success pays off when one persists in listening to mind and heart is what poet Shiv Sathyagari pens as his experience on his journey to success through the poem “The Approval”.

I

Walking down the road,

On the way to the abode...

Thinking about the world,

That I’m about to get a hold...

Might not reach the level of the gold,

If not today, not the end of the world...

II

Every second increases the heart’s fire,

All I have is a full raging desire

A mistake in the qualities I require,

Might cause me a blunder that’s dire...

Shouldn’t call my inner-self me a liar,

Maybe that’s how the expectations cause a mire...

III

Looking around... everyone chasing the trend,

Transform accordingly making an amend...

Questioning myself, “What’s remaining to spend?”

The character said to intelligence, “Time to make a new blend!”

The frightened heart said, “Confidence is your friend...”

Replied the mind saying, “This is not the end!”

IV

Conversations trying to get everything sorted,

Finally, my inner-self is coming with me escorted...

Collecting all of my courage invested...

Accepted the offer... “Yes!” I texted.

After all this time I got tested,

The sense of relief finally rested.

Suspected at first, but later got connected...

Directed right and things got a little perfected...”
